Austin called us from the airport about 10:30AM on July 3rd. He took frontrunner up to the airport with a bunch of other missionaries. He was very excited to be flying out and loved the missionaries he was traveling with. It was a short but sweet conversation!
Later in the evening (about 9:45PM) We received a call from President Young. He is Austin’s mission President in Eugene Oregon. He wanted us to know that Austin had arrived safe and sound and his first area would be Brookings, Oregon. This is the southmost area of the mission and they have not had missionaries in that area until recently. (34 years!) He told us that Austin has a really good trainer too.
We looked on the internet and Brookings is really beautiful and right on the coast! It was about 4 hours from Eugene Oregon so Austin had a long car drive once he arrived. We are excited for his first area and can’t wait to hear from him next week!
